In the file directory, there should be a disk image file, an ISO, MDS, whatever. Use Daemon Tools or something similar to "mount" the disk image file (using Daemon Tools Lite, you right click on the taskbar icon and choose Virtual CD/DVD-ROM, then choose Mount Image and select the file). If Autoplay is enabled, your computer should load the disk like it was a real CD, and you should be able to install it without a problem. If the torrent you downloaded came with a .txt file (opens with Notepad), open it. It should have a CD key/serial number that you can use to install the Sims 2 expansion. If it does not, check http://www.serials.ws/
After you install it (it should automatically find the correct directory, that is where your Sims 2 game is installed), you may need to crack it. If the torrent included a crack (which could be located inside the image file, in which case just go to My Computer and Explore the mounted disk thing) then just copy over the files from the crack directory into wherever the ReadMe file that is usually included with torrents tells you to. I personally have never downloaded any Sims 2 game, so I wouldn’t know where that was, but it’s probably somewhere near "C:/Program Files/Electronic Arts/Sims 2". I have included the link to download Daemon Tools Lite for a 32-bit Windows XP based computer, but if you are using a Mac, you’ll need Toast (link included).
I hope this helped, and I hope you get your Sims working. Bye for now!
right click the completed torrent and click open file or something and the file should b their like iso file or whatever kind of file it is,
