What is the significance of the caste system for the practice of Hinduism? Also what is the mythological story of the origin of the caste system?

It is another example of the rich controlling the poor.
So they use religion to do it.
By saying we are reincarnated into something else and deserve to suffer. But they were born into wealth and privilege because they were so good in a past life and deserve it.
Reminds us of the Pharisees who were rich money lovers, and looked down on the people they were suppose to serve.
They use religion to control poor people, that is the significance of the caste system.
