How much does a psychologist in Canada make per year? Also, what type of psychologist makes the most money? What type of psychologist makes the least amount of money? Is a psychologist a successful career or is it a career that anyone could do with the proper qualifications? Lastly, is it a career worth pursuing?

On average $55K however that amount varies widely depending on whether they are self employed and have their own practice or are part of an existing business. Also it depends if they are located in a major city like Toronto or Montreal or not. Most go where the clients are if they want to be successful and in a colder climate where there is less sunshine and natural vitamin d like Canada, there is plenty of S.A.D. to keep psychologists busy. Of course they handle much more than that.
Psychiatrists make the most money because they can also prescribe medication to their patients, which leads more people to use them as a solution. In addition psychology can play a big role in successful marketing and advertising, so that is another avenue for you career. Many psychologists also write very successful self help books. Just one book that sells millions can secure your retirement. The bottom line is you have to have a passion for this type of work and for helping people because you are likely to be bummed out from some you clients.
