Why do so many Christians equate being liberal with being atheist?

Also, why is being liberal seen as weakness so often to the Christian fundamentalists?
Can’t you be a Christian with liberal values who is against war and thinks Obama is a great president?

I wouldn’t want to mess with some of the liberal Christian writers at http://www.talk2action.org since they look like they can handle themselves pretty well in a fistfight. The fact they actually care about other humans upsets ‘real’ Christians like Karl P.
