How much does it cost per square foot, does it cost to build a poured slab foundation…I’m not sure how deep it needs to be, but deep enough to hold a lot of weight…I know it’s general, but so is the answer that I need.

Vern, it’s hard to guess as to the cost of your foundation, as there are a lot of variables. So, your best bet would be to seek free estimates from local foundation contractors, especially since the cost of foundation material and labor greatly varies by location.

Call around. BETTER yet, for your convenience, here’s a handyman site I use, which has a section devoted to floors/foundation, where you’ll find not only informative articles, but also–which you may find helpful–a text-link ad that offers up to four (4) Free estimates from local foundation contractors (when you click the link below, on the new page, just scroll down a bit and you’ll see the text-link, "Find Local Foundation Pros…Get Up to 4 Quotes Now…Free"):

Yeah, so get your estimates, as that’s the way to get information that is relevant to your local area, including as to relevant costs. Good luck with your foundation project.

Since prices vary from area to area you really need to contact a contractor and tell them what you are doing and how big of an area you are wanting to have poured. Your ground may have to have a certain type of prep before concrete could be poured. There are many things that need checked pryor to pouring the concrete. The contractor will need to come out and see what you have as far as your ground area is concerned and then he/she can can give you an idea of what it will cost you.

That is a factor you will only be able to figure out. Why because you have no details about the size, thickness and how much weight. the weight is a factor and should determine the size of your structure. take a 10′ x 10′ x 6 inch’s deep. that is 1.85 cubic yards so call it 2 yard of concrete. About 111 bags of ready mix concrete. Do not know the current bulk prices. You should find them in your local area.
