A storage closet in my apartment building has mold in it. It is impossible for me to contact the mold issue in its entirety. I just need a solution for how to prevent the mold in the closet (it’s about 4 ft x 3 ft).
Obviously if i just wipe it or wash it off, it will come back.

scrub it good with a course brush with a bleach / water mixture.
after completely dry repaint with a mold / mildewproof paint such as this.

contains a mildewcide to prevent growth of mold & mildew
also you will need toimprove the air circulation in the area to keep it drier. add a vent opening in the door perhaps, cover with a grill like these

When there’s something strange, in your neighborhood; who you gonna call?

combine clorox and water in a spray bottle, saturate the mold and dry with a fan. this should kill the mold that you can see, but it will re-appear if the mold is seeping in from behind the wall.

The biggest problem is the source of the mold ! Is it from damp coming through the wall ? to stop the mold use a dampproof paint or the like from your hardware store…One of the best ways to eliminate the mold is to ventilate by a small air vent at the base of the door and one at the top !! an airflow will help big time !!

Try using tea tree oil. Mix 2 teaspoon of tea tree oil with 2 cups of water and spray the solution onto the problem area. Let it stand wiping rinsing. The smell of mold and the mold shall diminish. You can also try a cheaper alternative by using vinegar, mix with water in the ratio of 1:1, or use it undiluted to treat serious spot.

Keep your closet dry and well ventilated will prevent molds from coming back.

    Hope this helps.
