These four seem to appear wherever there are Asians. My Asian friends seem to instantly know when they see another Asian where that person is from. Is there some sort of secret? Is this an Asian thing? How do they just know? HELP!

6. LANGUAGE:
Chinese: The Chinese language sounds the most "Asian" out of all Asian language. The Chinese language use more ching, chong, woo, long, aee. Sometimes it may sound like the Chinese are fighting when talking, but they really aren’t. It’s in the Chinese nature to be loud.
Japanese: The Japanese use a lot of s, ch, aa, w in their daily language. Japanese usually sounds the most soothing to ears. The accent sounds slightly strong when speaking English.
NOTE: The accent thing only go towards new English speakers.
Korean: Known to be the driest language of all Asian languages. You will hear the phrase "im-ni-da" at the end of most sentences due to formality. They use a lot of kk, yo, ko, ae, im and da in their languages. They usually speak from the back of their throat.
Vietnamese: A mixture of Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. They have a flat out accent like the Chinese. Sound completely Asian when trying to speak Asian.
NOTE: The accent thing only go towards new English speakers.
7. LAST NAMES:
Chinese: Li, Wang, Yang, Wu, Lin.
Japanese: Sato, Yoshida, Sasaki, Suzuki.
Korean: Kim, Park, Lee, Yoo.
Vietnamese: Nguyen, Pham, Le, Truong, Tran.
ALL FOUR NATIONALITIES:
* Dark hair
* Dark Eyes
* Formality is very important.
* One word in English can translate into three words in an Asian language.
* Most last name has one syllable. (Except Japanese?)
* Most Korean drama watchers can usually tell a Korean face and the Korean language
* Usually like the other nationality’s food. Ex. Chow Mein, Sushi, Kim Chi, and Pho.
* Usually one race will know how to say "hi" in all four languages.
* A slight bow/nod is considered ca
Warning: These descriptions only reach to an 85% of the Southern Asian population appearence. Do not take them it their full extend.
*In other words: Not every Japanese/Chinese/Korean/Viet are going to match every single one of these description. You can’t be exactly sure until you ask.
First thing first: Yes, it’s an Asian thing. Most Asians can tell from the tip of their finger which Asian is from where. The tips you are about to read comes to Asians naturally. And if you have to read them that means the chances of you succeeding at Asian telling is very low. Sorry.
Oh, and some of these may sound races when they aren’t mean to be. I mean, what doesn’t sound racist these days?
1. SKIN TONE:
Chinese: The skin tone of the Chinese are golden mixed with fair. Darker than the Japanese, but lighter than the Vietnamese. Pretty much the perfect Asian skin tone of all.
Japanese: (Way to spell this wrong in your question, btw.) The Japanese have a fair skin tone.
Koran: Also fair skin tone. Usually the lightest of all Asians.
Vietnamese: Golden skin tone. Darker than all the Asians above.
2. EYES:
Chinese: The Chinese have the saddest/evil looking eyes of all depending on the facial structure. Don’t take this in a negative way, Chinese. It’s not a bad thing. As a matter of fact it’s what makes the Chinese so unique. Most Chinese have single eyelids and smaller eyes. NOTE: Smaller eyes does not mean slanted.
Japanese: They have larger, but slantier eyes. The eye colors are usually darkest of all Asian eyes. Almost onyx color. The Japanese also usually have single eyelids.
Korean: The Koreans have smaller, but non-slanted eyes. Some eyes may look bored, but others look awaken somehow. Depends on your genes. Most Koreans either double lids on one eye and single on the other or single eyelids on both. Usually, the eyelids sometimes show up and sometimes not. This can happen to one eye or both.
Vietnamese: The Vietnamese have the most ‘normal looking’ eyes of all. Their eyes are usually rounder, bigger, and more defined. They also usually have longer eyelashes as well. If someone is 100% Vietnamese, he will almost always have double lids. Some though, have single and double lids, but most have double. The eye color is usually brown or dark brown. Almost never pitch black.
3. NOSE:
Chinese: They generally have wider nose bridges. The middle of the end of the nose stick out more than the two sides.
Japanese: The nose bridge of a Japanese is usually thin and low. From the end of the nose bridge to the tip of the nose is usually very thin and barbie-like. Japanese are known to have the most defined nose of all Eastern Asians.
Korean: The Koreans’ nose bridges are hard to see. They are usually low and medium sized. The ends are sometimes wider than the Japanese.
Vietnamese: Their noses usually lack nose bridges. The tips are wide and round. If they do have nose bridges, they are usually very low.
4. LIPS
*** Asians are known to have full and structured lips. So this section may be no help at all.
Chinese: The shape is usually a wide O and when smiled makes a wider O.
Japanese: The Japanese have thinner, heart-shaped lips. Most Japanese have smaller smiles than other Eastern Asians.
Korean: Lips of the Koreans are usually the most defined and fullest. Sometimes they look thinner only because the rest of the face structure make the lips look right sized. If you’ve ever looked just at a Korean’s lips itself, you will see they are fuller than most Asian lips.
Vietnamese: Color of Vietnamese lips are usually darker. Most Vietnamese have the fullest lips of all, but also the smaller in width range. The top of the lips stick out a little more than the other Asians. NOTE: The Vietnamese are very well-known for their naturally perfect teeth which make their smiles very beautiful.
5. HAIR:
Chinese: The Chinese have the darkest hair of all Asians. Their hairstyle usually look very natural. Usually just like straight across or something casual.
Japanese: They have the lightest hair all asians. Some have light brown, some have regular brown. Rarely will you see pitch black. Their hair are usually very thin and shoulder-length.
Korean: The Koreans are the most creative with their hairstyles. Side swept bands are very popular in Korea. Korean girls usually have long, smooth hair with some sort of color most of the time. The boys hair seem to always look perfect and looks very well-fitted with their faces.
NOTE: Popularity of hairstyle may change over time. So don’t be &$^*#!%-ing at me if you’re reading this five years from now.
Vietnamese: Usually very straight hair and dark hair. The Vietnamese like to copy the Korean hair styles, but their hair are almost always straight no matter what.
********MORE IN NEXT ANSWER. IT WON’T FIT I POST IT ALL AT ONCE*******
well they generally have small eyes which is why most people cant tell. chinese tend to have round faces and slightly bigger eyes. theirs are usually not slanted either. japanese have pale skin and thin faces with narrower noses and slanted small eyes. koreans tend to have more square like faces.
It’s an oriental thing. My oriental friends can tell the difference( many times they end up being wrong…lol) of which ethnicity an oriental is, but physically speaking, they are of the MONGOLOID RACE. Thats it, nothing to discuss there.
chinese has "ching chong chung ching"
korea has: wefh ;oweIHYTR;
vietnamese has: du cong cuc du ma mai cuccc
japanese has: hiros kiru kanyen kuewtr
either way they all weird T_T
I can never distinguish the Chinese, Japanese or Koreans, but Vietnamese people are usually very dark compared to most East Asians (along with Cambodians and Filipinos)
There isn’t really a distinct feature in the asian race i dont think because i’m asian. Even the languages can sound almost the same. The chinese language is very bouncy and most of the time you can tell its chinese. The japanese language is a little easier to recognize because all their words end with a vowel or the letter n and sounds a little longer and faster than others but it just means the same. The korean language can sound japanese or chinese depending on the dialect. The vietnamese laungage can be a mix of many different sounds. The most easiest asian race to distinguish is the korean. Vietnamese is the hardest. Although im vietnamese, a lot of them can look Korean (mostly), Japanese(the eyes and face structure), Chinese(the eyes), Filipino (mostly), Cambodian (least). I have light skin and roundish and regular to small eyes with double eyelids, dark hair, full lips, smallish smile which makes everyone think im either korean, chinese or japanese. Its difficult to explain.
no, i am

You said, "The Chinese have the saddest/evil looking eyes of all depending on the facial structure."
Grow up. How can a Chinese person NOT take offense to this?

they all have different food, religions, traditions, …
Alllllll you have to do is study up on asian facial features.. That’s it.. Then you let your brain do the rest..
In general though, koreans tend to have rounder faces, chinese tend to have very squinty eyes, japanese are generally shorter and have longer noses, and vietnamese tend to have distinctly larger eyes.
