How do I switch my puppy to eating dry food and why doesn’t he like drinking water?

I just recently adopted a 2 month yorkie and the owners I had purchased him from fed him "Ceasar’s Filet Mignon" which is wet food. I’ve heard that dry food helps a puppy grow stronger and gives them more nutrients than wet food. I’m afraid if I switch his food it will do him harm. How should I go about changing his food habits and about the water, how can I get him to start drinking his water?

like with food when they get hungry they eat. same with water. my 2 dogs are opposites one doesnt like to be watched. he will not do either if you watch. the other tries to eat it before you put it down and drinks as you pour it out.

the dog will decide. you may have to add some bouillion to the dry food the first few times

your dog does not drink water because there is enough water present in his food that meet its required water intake.

I have a Yorkie, and they can be picky eaters. But, my vet told me you have to just be strong with them.

He told me to change her to a good dog food gradually, by giving her a little each day, by mixing in what she has been eating in the new dog food…. gradually giving her more each day. He recommended Iams or Eukanuba puppy food up until they are one year old.

Yorkie are very small dogs, and at 2 months
should be fed at least twice a day. Leave out
puppy chow or some other small easy to chew
dry dog food all the time with water. Feed the dog wet canned dog food at least once a day,
about a third of a can. Cap it and refrigerate.
Check the dogs teeth, he might not be ready for
dry dog food. 6 to 8 months is a better time to switch him. Start with giving him a small amount of milk in his water dish. Wash the bowl, and put water in its place. If he has drunk the milk, but still will not drink the water,
rinse the bowl and try a half bowl of bottled water. If he drinks the bottled water, it means you need to have your tap water checked.
Dogs instinctively know not to drink polluted
    water! (he’s not being picky!)
