I baked a betty crocker milk chocolate sheet cake. I put choc fudge frosting on it, let it cool and then put it in a tupperware container. Should I put it in the fridg? will that make it lose taste? how long will it stay good for in fridg or counter..what do you guys do when you bake cakes?

I keep them in the refrigerator, especially in warm weather. It stays pretty good there for up to 3 days. Any longer than that, and it’ll be drying out and not nearly so good. I love my chocolate cake cold, straight from the refrigerator, but you can let it warm up to room temperature before eating it, if you like.

With a family of 6 when everyone lived at home a cake didn’t have time to go bad. So it depends on how fast you’ll eat it, I usually let them sit in their pan well covered on the counter. You certainly can keep it in the fridge. You’ll know when it goes stale.

yes!!! refrigerate it or else u will have mold on yer cake. Cake is moist and so is the Tupperware container, since it will not let moisture in or out, so the cake cannot breathe. I don’t bake cakes. i buy them, and leave them in the containers they came with and seal them well. I never buy more than we can eat in three or four days, so I buy a small cake.
