How much does it cost to publish a book?

This is a chapter book in progress, can someone please tell me the steps like sending it to an editor, agent, publisher, ect. Also how much does it cost overall, (do agents cost money, if so how much) not to self publish but send it to a publisher. I am a new commer to this, not have one book published, HELP PLEASE!

being published should cost a penny. If they are asking you for money they are most likely a fraud and get as far away from them as you can. i think agents get like 15% of the profits from the book if it sells. the process is this first write the book, second edit, edit, edit, and then when you think your done edit again. Now go to your local libary and check out the book called the Writer’s Market, as it will tell you which agents will represent you and the genre you are righting. i would also strongly sugest looking up how to write a query letter as that could make or break you. it is best to try and get an agent becasue with them you can get published by more well known publishers. i hope this helps.
It’s better to send it to a publisher. Depending on the company’s reputation and whatnot, the price will vary.

If you’re self-publishing, then youre going to have to pay to get your book out. The costs to publish a book varies - you can publish for as low as $399 or as high as $12000. I suggest you look around for self-publishing companies and compare prices so you can arrive at a publishing price that best suits your budget and needs. Good luck!
