I will explain how it works. You may or may not like the idea, but please take 15 minutes to explore it and you won’t regret it.
Blastoff was just launched on October 22nd 2009, it is NO scam or spam, IT IS absolutely real. It just launched and not many people know about it! I already tried it myself and it works great.
The main idea of creating this web site is to make everyone shop online through it, and the site obviously gets credit (cash back) from the online merchants and makes money that way (and will share these rewards with you), and also through advertising.
You can shop from that web site any time you want. How it works is - it gives you cash back rewards (as a percent of dollars spent) which accumulate in your Blastoff account and you can request a check after you gain the desired cash back. So it is like a credit card cash back rewards program - no difference.
Not only that you gain cash back rewards to your blastoff account, but you can still purchase the product with a Credit Card (which has cash back rewards program), and gain cash back on your credit card as well - that’s double cash back!.
Now, I know you like web sites like deals2buy.com and edealinfo.com and you make a lot of purchases there. Well, you can go to those deal sites, find the desired deal, and if you want to buy something, go to your blastoff site and click on the Blastoff Mall icon, find the same store there (most stores are included already, and they are working on adding more every week), click on the store icon, add the product to your cart (you can still use all coupon or rebate deals which you found through the deal site), purchase it, and after a couple of days you will see cash back rewards in your blastoff account.
Just make sure you have enabled cookies in your browser so your blastoff account gets credit for the purchase. The way it works is Blastoff made a contract with numerous online merchants and some of them really big - like Walmart.com, Bestbuy.com, newegg.com, buy.com, Dell.com, and many more - and if you click on these stores through the Blastoff Mall and go there and make a purchase you get cash back rewards!
The second great idea they implied is the Blastoff Networks.
You can build your network of people through inviting them. When you invite someone and they sign up and create a Blastoff account, they become part of your network. If they make a purchase from the Blastoff mall they get cash back rewards, but so do you because they are in your network. If that person invites a third person and they sign up and make a purchase, all 3 of you will get cash back credit….and so on until the 10th person.
Now, a lot of you sceptics may say this thing looks fishy, but it is NOT. It is very REAL and Legal! They just want to stimulate more people use their web site! That’s all.
On the other side, I want to invite people to join my network, so it grows bigger - that’s why I am writing this post!
There is nothing to lose, and there is no Scam.
Remember you will do online purchases anyways, why not try online shopping with Blastoff?

What a great way to advertise. I’m in for two points.
This idea and versions of this have been around for a long time.
None of them are resounding successes.
Why would any major merchant want to pay a third party to procure shoppers when they have their own marketing departments?
My recommendation is not to use Yahoo Groups to advertise Blastoff which is exactly what you are doing.
Is BlastOff a “multi-level-marketing (MLM)” scheme? No more so than most other companies. Consider a typical retail store such as a jewelry store or clothing store. You have your store employees that typically get a base salary with some type of commission structure to incentivize them to make sales. You then have the store manager…a regional manager…the officers of the corporation….etc. Personnel at each of these levels are receiving bonuses based on the performance of the company which is rooted at the base…the store level. Even back-office personnel may get bonuses based on the company performance (which originates at the store level…no sales at the store….no bonuses), so numerous levels are getting paid based on the sales at the store level. Is that a multi-level-marketing scheme?
BlastOff members have an opportunity to grow their network of “sales people”, effectively being the person at the head of their organization. As a member of BlastOff you get “rewards” (I call it a commission) based on purchases you make at the more than 400 participating retailers and when you get people to join through your site, you get “rewards” on purchases they make up to 10 degrees of separation. How large is this? If you sign up 3 people….and they each sign up 3 people…and they each sign up 3 people…and on and on out through 10 levels, you would have over 88,000 people in Your Network at the 10th level. You get full commissions on your purchases and a small percentage on all of the purchases made through BlastOff by the other 80,000 people in Your Network.
How can the retailer do this? Commissions on your purchases generally range from 1% to 5% but go as high as 15%. The rewards (commissions) you make from “down-line” purchases made by Your Network start at 0.04% and go up to as much as 3%.
Most retailers (such as Sears, Best Buy, Macy’s, Old Navy, Gap, K-Mart, BeBe, etc.) fall at the lower end of this. Travel related sites (Expedia, Priceline, Hotwire, Hotels.com, Avis, Southwest Airlines, etc.) are also at the lower end. Assuming you buy an item at the 1% rewards level and 10 levels below you were making 0.04% on your purchase, that would be a total reward (commission) of 1.4% paid out by the retailer. Assuming this ratio holds true for all “rewards”, a 3% reward to you would cost the retailer a total of approximately 4%. So how can they do this?
I don’t know how the business model for BlastOff is structured but I would guess the retailers don’t pay to advertise on BlastOff. I would think it’s more a relationship of mutual benefits. The retailers get sales and BlastOff gets more members, but what would those sales be worth to the retailers? First, there is not any advertising cost associated with the sale. Secondly, they have taken the store out of the picture so there are no store employees…no rents…no store managers…etc. The table below summarizes some of the expenses just mentioned and expresses these costs as a percentage of sales. This information was obtained from Bizstats.com. Non-store retailers would generally consist of internet retailers and direct marketers.

Note the difference in the costs between “Non-Store Retailers” at the top of the table v. the other retailers that typically derive the bulk of their sales from store locations. Non-store retailers typically have an office and/or a warehouse where rents are much cheaper than retail locations, particularly at malls. In addition, the ratio of personnel to sales is typically much lower than a retail storefront. In addition to the costs above, assuming my speculation about the business model is correct, the retailers on BlastOff have eliminated advertising costs. Advertising costs for the above industries range from 1.01% of total sales (for Health/Personal Care) to 2.82% for non-store retailers. This is logical since non-store retailers have to advertise more since they don’t have the passive adve

You have to look at it as an opportunity. Its a lot of fun actually when you get your page all set up and start customizing. I do not believe it is a scam because there is no fees or money involved. If it was a scam, they would have asked for money to begin or monthly fees like most others. I have done research on this and have yet to find any negatives. It seems like a fun way to spend time online and it also pays you some cash back when you buy something. These major retailers would not have partnered with this company if it was a scam.
