My whole house smell like the fish I fried last nite. How can I get rid of it?

Boil potatoes on the stovetop. The potatoes will absorb the odor of the fish.

I discovered this quite by accident a while ago….so whenever I decide to make seafood at home I also boil potatoes (and either mash them or save them to make potato salad.)

Put a sauce pan on the stove and simmer 2 cups of white vinegar. Simmer for at least half an hour. It will smell vinegary at first, but once you take it off the heat, both the fish smell and the vinegar smell will quickly disapear. Sounds strange and gross, but it works really well. Try it!

Scream "GO AWAY FISH" Like 10 times and if this doesn’t work. Oust

Burn candles, incense, and open the doors and windows. :-)

Or cook something else that smells strongly, but good… garlic or cookies, etc.

i LOVE LOVE LOVE the febreze air effects air freshener! i always spray that after i get done frying and cleaning up…i also light a candle or two, the febreze ones, and the smell usually goes away pretty quickly…the candles dont last very long at all but neither does the stinky fishy smell!

Walk through the house and spray frebreeze every where not the air freshener but odor eliminator spray. It is great stuff. I try to put my deep fryer outside when we fry fish.

i agree with nessa with simmering some vinegar over the stove top. because that’s the one that i used when i burned the popcorn in the microwave! that white vinegar is so versatile!
i have a small portable electric stove that i use outside to fry fish.
if you have some asian/filipino stores in your area, they fry the fish for free! i love deep fried tilapia!
