How does a girl react when a guy goes to jail over statutory rape for having consensual sex with them ?

I always hear about teenage guys anywhere from 17-19 going to jail for having consensual sex with a slightly younger girl anywhere from 15-16…sometimes even 17 too. I never hear about the girls reaction and how they take it tho since they dont really get into trouble…but how do the young ladies feel when a guy is thrown in jail over them?

Last year there was a special where a guy in his 20s took a 14 year old girl across state line to marry her in state where the legal age of marriage was 14. When he came back he was arrested. Even though her mother had given her consent and she was pregnant the judge did not relent. He went to jail but when he came back she stayed with him. She was still in love with him. I don’t think older guys should date teenage girls but I feel that in a situation where the parent give her consent the judge should not send the guy to jail. When you think of real rapist going free all the time and a guy who with his mother in law’s consent decide to live a monogamous relationship with the loves is put to jail, you know that something is wrong with the American justice system. It is not the first real case that i heard where a young man was sent to jail even though he had the mother’s consent.
My advice to all 18 year old who want to have sex with a girl under the age of consent is: DON"T TAKE THAT CHANCE.
I had sex w/ someone 2 years older than me when I was 17…IF he had gotten in trouble, I would’ve felt shocked and/or VERY guilty, because honestly the thought of it being wrong never crossed my mind. We were both in love, and not meaning any harm.
well if he’s your boyfriend or husband then hear his side of the story if it’s bull then leave him.
it was a bad choice on both of them but since the boy/man is an adult they knew better. it is assumed the younger wasnt mentally capable of making the choice. im sure they feel badly but the parent is trying to keep the daughter safe. id do the same thing if an adult man was sleeping with my underaged child. im sure she first "hates" her parents, sulks, gets angry and eventually as she matures will prob. understand.
Horrible I guess but the law is the law and if I had a son I would meke sure that he understands that under no circumstance is he to even touch an underaged girl cause the issue is not whether the girl gave her consent or not, the issue is that legally, she is too young to make that decision
They probably don’t care, were the ones who called the cops, or their parents sent them to jail, and so they are mad!
