There’s been a couple of myths on how it originally started, but what’s the original way you know on how thanksgiving started?

The very first recorded Thanksgiving on the North American continent was way up north, on one of the expositions trying to find the way to get to Asia. Sir Martin Frobisher skirted Baffin Island, and thought he had found the North West Passage, although he hadn’t. He ordered his Chaplain, Robert Wolfall to prepare a Thanksgiving service before they headed for home. This was 20 July, 1577, in Frobisher Bay. (The community there is now called Iqaluit.) However, this did not become a regular celebration.

It wasn’t until 31 January, 1957 that the Canadian Parliament made Thanksgiving Day a regular holiday, held on the second Monday in October. In Canada, it is seen as a Harvest celebration, and churches are decorated with all sorts of produce (which is often donated to charity).

The Europeans demanded that the Injuns give them thanks for freeing them from their savagery.

There is no such myths, if you didn’t go to school in this country you should only be allowed to stay for less than a year to make room for all of the other immigrants who want to come here and overcrowd our country with idiots.
