How do I become a faster thinker and win more arguments?

Whenever Im in an argument with somebody, I always look stupid because I just cant think of anything witty to say, so I end up saying something dumb. And then, the next day, I always think of something perfect I could have said, and Im always thinking "Ohhhh, I could have said that!". How do I become a fast thinker? In other words, how can I become the kind of person who can always think of the perfect thing to say right on the spot? Any tips or advice?
Thanks.

Well, I’m not sure if this will work but it’s the best I can come up with.

I think "exercise" would be most likely to help here. I know that things like memory and spatial visualization can be improved with practice, so it makes sense to me that practicing witty remarks could improve your quick-thinking ability.

Exercise your body to get a better body; exercise your mind to get a better mind.

I used to be like you describe yourself. These days the witty remarks come to me faster than I can even pay attention. All I can think of is that I have a very cynical and sarcastic sense of humor and that I’m always making smart-a$s jokes about things to point out inconsistencies or just to be silly.

So I’m going to say try using jokes as your exercise. I’m thinking perhaps it’s easier to think of witty remarks in a joking situation than it is in an argument because there’s less stress going on when you’re making a joke. That way, you can get your ‘practice’ in a situation that is less stressful (so you can think more clearly) and also people often appreciate jokes so you don’t need to worry so much about the effect your words may have on others and their acceptance of you.

I’m thinking that if you practice enough like this, then witty remarks will just start popping into your head naturally and you’ll be able to come up with them in more stressful situations, like an argument. I’m guessing (and it is a GUESS) that this is how it happened for me.

grats on trying to be a faster thinker and become more witty however….

You shouldnt be so concerned about winning an argument… Maybe the other side has good point’s and views that you cant see through your eye’s…

people are amazing things…with amazing minds(weather they use them or not) you may learn crazy stuff if you open you ears and mind.
