How can I break the habit of gritting my teeth?

When I’m concentrating, I grit my teeth. I grit them so hard it makes my jaw ache. Problem is, it’s getting worse - I’ve started to do it when I’m not concentrating so hard now too, like when I’m typing and sometimes even when I’m thinking!! Obviously it’s not doing my teeth any good (I also have a severe over-bite!) and it really looks ugly as I tend to bare my teeth when I do it!! Anyone any ideas how I can break this very unattractive habit?

    Chewing gum was the help and now i am ok but i can not be without chewing gum at any time
