How is my dialysis going to be covered if I currently live in Texas , and my two insurances are Aetna and Medicare?
How would dialysis be covered in Canada?

Neither Aetna nor Medicare will cover your dialysis out of the country. You’ll have to pay for it yourself until you establish residency there. Then you’ll be at the mercy of the Canadian health system.

It won’t be covered in Canada. I seriously doubt Aetna will pay benefits once you’ve left the country, and medicare certainly won’t.

Canada isn’t going to let you live there, anyway, without your own health insurance in place - and you probably can’t buy Canadian health insurance since you’re on dialysis now.

My guess is, you’re not going to be moving to Canada.

Hey forget what those two bozos are saying. As long as you become a Canadian citizen or at least landed immigrant status your entitled to free health care. We don’t believe in pre-existing conditions.

  • Lori says:

If you are in Canada legally then you will be covered under universal health care after the three month waiting period. You may need to get some insurance to cover the three months but after that dialysis will be covered. The fact that it is pre-exsisting won’t matter.
