How would you keep a cat looking nice and clean, with shiny fur and a nice face and just looking healthy? I don’t want my cat to become sruffy and dirty, so how can I avoid this?

First, feed if a good diet. That will give it a beautiful coat, and make it feel healthy so it will want to groom itself. brush him often to keep hairballs to a minimum, and never let your cat roam outside. Doing so is extremely unhealthy for him, will shorten his life, raise your vet bills, and make him look scruffy and unkempt.
A good diet consists of canned food (never dry) without grains in it, and no meat byproducts. Wellness is a good brand but if you are on a budget, the cheapest high quality food is Trader Joes house brand ( 59 cents a can) my cats also love their scratching pad which is all of 7.00.
It’s interesting how much a nice shiny coat can improve a cat’s looks. I’ve adopted two truly ugly kittens in my life - both tiny orphans with ratty coats. One looked like she went to the after Christmas sale at the Salvation Army and bought two moth eaten fur coats, and wore them one on top of the other. With proper diets and good grooming they became sleek and beautiful.
they do it themselves.
just keep his/her environment clean
Well, cats normally just clean themselves. Keep the area in which it lives clean too and it should stay looking all clean and pretty.
All you need to do is provide regular check ups at the vet, good food, and clean water.
Cats are fine, most of the time, of taking care of themselves in that department. They spend a lot of time grooming and they don’t really need much attention in reguards to that unless they’ve very old or unwell.
keep your cat indoors and keep your house clean
that will keep any healthy cat clean if your cat stops grooming his herself please take to vet as this is sometimes sign of major ailment
try cleaning under beds and couchs too
Put it in the shower… give it a bath…. brush it’s fur….
if your cat really starts to look bad, take it to a groomer, if not just brush it once in a while
Do I have to answer the obvious give it a bath? I bathe my cats bi-weekly and every time someone comes and pets my cats they say "They’re so soft!"
You can get brushes which would work for short hair can you can get brushes which work for long hair.
Feed you kitty a raw egg mixed with a tiny bit of milk once a week. egg is VERY VERY good for their skin and coat.
Cats should keep nice and clean by them selves.
But if you listen to what i’m saying, you should have no problem with her fur and hygiene.

I bath mine. I started when they were kittens, and they do not mind it all. If I wait to long they will sit in the sink and wait for me to bath them. I get reminded. I must say they are so cute fluffy and shiny. That is the only way I have found. I tried the dry bath they sell in the stores for cats, and it just did not do the trick to meet my satisfaction.
A good diet is the key. Buy a brush too to brush your kitty and get rid of loose fur.
Do not listen to those saying to bathe the cat. Cats do not need to be bathed unless something strange happens… like they live in a dumpster for a week or is infested with fleas….
The key to keeping your kitty’s coat healthy and shiny is a good food. I have tried several different foods for my cat and recently found that his coat looks so good. I feed him Meow Mix Indoor Formula. It’s inexpensive, he loves it and it seems to be really good for him. My cat has super long fur and he doesn’t have a problem with hairballs and I think it’s because of this cat food. It’s also good to brush your kitty at least once a week, depending on the length of it’s hair. Even if your cat is short haired it’s still good to brush him because it for one controls the amount of animal hair that gets on your furniture, clothes, carpet, and it will make your kitty very happy. lol. I use a metal wire brush. The teeth of the brush are really thin and close together. It gets all of the loose hair. Hope this helps.
Well they naturally clean themselves by licking themselves and keeping their fur soft and shinny. They hate water although so i wouldnt was them. Get a comb and groom them. have fun:)
give them a bath every now and then.
