I am an actor and would like a website to market myself with. I would have a main page with links to maybe 5 other pages (pictures, videos, resume etc.) I would like it to be a little flashy with interactive capabilities. About how much would I be spending per hour to get this done? Thanks!

Well there are a number of free places you can get flash templates that are decent. But that won’t complete the project, you need someone to put in content and extras. So it all really depends on how much you want done. But if you want to start from scratch and get exactly what you want w/ content in flash. well then you are looking at around 500-10000$ dollars. (yeah big range, but it’s true). plus you have to account for hosting and marketing which isnt much. although depending on how much you do of course. also, if you find a template you like from maybe…flashmo.com (good free stuff) and you have flash CS3 or above, and you have one slight clue about what it does, that combined w/ common sense you’ll save yourself some money.
    OR
you can talk to me :).
i know much to tell you everything you need to know to get a site going.

If you insist on having this professionally done, I don’t know. You can always ask a friend to help you tho for FREE. I know a bit of HTML coding and dreamweaver, but I can’t do much flash interfaces.

Web designers come from a wide range of experience. Typically, a junior designer will try to make around $25 per hour and a real pro will be shooting for closer to $150 per hour.

However, you should expect to see per-page or overall-project pricing.

Obviously, a seasoned pro (or team) will produce better results faster, and you can get some guarantees (like that you will actually see a website someday). Professional web design firms are also better able to provide examples of sites that will best suit your requirements. They also know more about search engine optimization (if that is a concern for an actor).

    Break a leg.

With a pre-built web site/pages and host depending on how fancy you get, it could range in price from $250.00 to on up. A lot of hosts now sell prefabricated pages, just insert words and pictures amd you are all set.

As you may know a domain name is just a name, not a real website. If you are going to create your website: 1- Buy a domain name. A domain name is a name you want to call your website (ex: http://www.yahoo.com). To get a domain name, you have to pay an annual fee to a registrar for the right to use that name. 2- Buy a web hosting service to provide your online space and enable you to get your website online at your purchased domain name.

If you want to start your website I recommend purchase your domain and hosting together. In this way it is possible to get your domain for free. Some hosting services offer this gift today.

As an experienced webmaster I recommend BH web hosting which I’m sure it would work for you and fulfill all your requirements. They have a really great offer for hosting & I have used them for over 3 yrs now, and have never had a single problem with them.

You can reach reviews about this web hosting provider and its latest DISCOUNT COUPONS at:

They also offer "Free Site Builder" that helps you build your web pages without difficulty if you are not skilled in using any website creating program. (WYSIWYG: What You See Is What You Get) You can use this service optionally. You can also create the pages offline with your favorite program (DreamWeaver, FrontPage, Microsoft Publisher, etc.), and then upload them to your web host. This is another easy way to get your website online.
