How do I train my kitten to stop attacking my hands?

She attacks my hands all the time. And I have tons of scratches. Any ideas on how to train her to be nice and to stop attacking.
Also whenever we eat she tries to steal our food but when I give her a treat she gets all mean and growls.
Help?

I think all kittens do this. At least all of mine did. They attack hands cuz hands are always moving, and are interesting. Discourage her from using hands as toys. She has to learn that hands are for petting, not for biting. Don’t wrestle with her, or let her bite your fingers, even when she is playing. Try buying or even making her lots of toys, and play with her with the toys, and when she attacks you reply with a loud, stern, "no!". My cats favorite home made toy is a scrunched up piece of paper attached to a string, she loves the crinkle sound when she bites it. Maybe you cat growls when you give her food because she is afraid it will be taken away. You could try petting her while she eats, so she learns to trust you and that you won’t steal food from her. I recommend not feeding her from the table though. My cat LOVES the whiskas temptations.

when she scratches you hand…just tap her on the head softly or something..give her a treat when she doesnt scratch your hand…good luck

spank her every time she scratches you. you must let her know that this is un acceptable and that you are not going to put up with it any longer. make it soft licks at first. if that don’t work, make them a little bit harder. also it sounds like you are not feeding her enough.if she was fulled, she would not be growling.i would try feeding her more at first. if that don’t work, then spank her. good luck.

why don’t you just let your kitten be a kitten. based on my experience, kittens tend to act that way when they are little but when they grow up—im sure they will be just fine. for now, try not to let your kitten be anywhere near you while you’re eating. as for your hand, try to wear a wool glove when playing with your kitten. Good luck!!!

Just let her be shes still a kitten she will eventually grow out of it like humans grow out of things.

First off do NOT spank your kitten. That is a normal reaction that kittens do when they are playing. If you don’t like being scratched get her a toy that dangles and when you play with her use that. That way the toy gets the claws and your hand is saved. Blowing in his/her face might work works with my parrot but I don’t think you will have much sucess with it. Kittens are VERY playful. If you want to bond with this kitten and have it like you figure out ways to interact with it that do not inculde you being aggressive to it.

When your eating you should feed her so she stops stealing food
Also you could but a glove or sock on your hands so you wont have lots of
    scratches
Do not blow in her ears it can hurt her ear drum and cause an ear infection

I had the same problem. We trained our cat to only attack our hands when we had a sleeve over it. Like a sweatshirt or old t-shirt, just wrap your hand and play with her. Eventually she will learn to only attack your hand when it’s covered. It worked for us. Good luck!

If your cat attacks your hands immediately look at her with sad eyes and walk away. She will probably stay in the same spot 4 a little while and the come back to u and act all sweet. After a little while u will start to notice a change in your cat!
