I want to turn my fanfiction idea into a 23 chapter story but not completely sure how to do that. I’ve already started the first chapter and I’ve got an ending planned but I don’t know how to make it as many chapters as I want. Please help me thanks!

I would just go with the flow if I was you, when I write a fanfiction or a short story I don’t say it needs to be (number here) chapters or else!

If you force it you might start to get tired of it or lose interest and get frustrated if you can’t hit the 23 chapter mark. ^^

If you want to though you could try some of these ideas

-Include a prologue and an Epilogue (2 Chapters right there)

-Make your chapters shorter or consistent in size(not one 1 page and the other 8 for example)

-Include maybe bonus chapters or specials.

-You could try flip flopping point of views in the characters, that can get annoying really fast though or maybe do a "meanwhile" thing and show whats happening with other characters at the time, doing this to often though can also get annoying.

you should just read the twilight series, she basically did the same thing.. had a first chapter, had an ending… then just wrote a bunch of useless stuff in between and BAM! she had a book!

Don’t try to make it too long, or it’ll show. Nothing is worse than a story is dragged on too long, because it’s boring and looks bad. If you can come up with some interesting ideas, use them. But if not, don’t drag on the chapters too long.

If you actually included information about the fanfic, we could help more.
