I am planning a beach trip and I want to get a base coat to prevent sunburn. I plan to use a tanning bed. How long should I lay in the bed and how do I proceed to get a nice even tan?

    well it really matters how strong your bed is.
    the place can help you the most here.
    general rule tho;
    stronger bed -> less time
    weaker bed -> more time

    i would go with a less strong bed for the first time and do about 8 min.

    thats exactly what i did.

    but they can help you there.
    just tell em its your first time and want what is best without making you burn.
    also tell them what kind of skin you have [like does it tan easier than burn or vise versa]

    remember to wear those eye things and just relax :)

    goodluck
    xx

    The people at the tanning place will tell you.

    When I went they said to stay for 3-5 mins first time.

    Zero minutes, it causes cancer.

    depending on how new the bulbs in the bed are. But I would say in general about 5 minutes. You do not want a tanning bed burn. It is miserable! I do it to myself sometimes because I fall asleep. It really hurts! About the third time you should be able to add more time. Good Luck!

    what mindy said! could depend on your skin sensitivity also..3-5 minutes is a good start
