The partition shows up in Acronis disk director but in my computer it doesn’t show up. It is fat32, about 5 gigs and in acronis seems to be labeled as an asterix * so *:\. How can i view the contents of this partion and hence browse through the files it seems to be hidden?

I would suggest you don’t faff with it. It’s a highly compressed disk image (not the operating system). What you could do is to use the disk manager in Control Panel and mount the partition into your system and then you should be able to open it as any other file.

Go into Folder Option in Control Panel and select View Hidden Files and Folders.

Best bet is don’t, it’s the operating system.
