I understand what both are but I’m confused as to what the difference is between them considering they both have to deal with being attracted to both genders.

Bisexuals are attracted to men and women.
Pansexuals are attracted to men, women, and transgender, transsexual, intersex, and gender-variant individuals. "Pan" means "all", so "pansexual" means "attraction to all sexes".
Some pansexuals characterize it as a potential attraction to anybody, regardless of bodies or genders. They may say that they fall in love with people or personalities, instead of with genders.
Other pansexuals, like myself, feel not that we are attracted to people regardless of their genders, but *because* of them- I don’t fall in love with people or personalities, any more than your average straight/gay/bi person does. I am equally actively attracted to all sorts of bodies and gender identities as I am to the personalities housed within.
