How do you quit a job you started a couple of months back for a better job? The old job is in the private sector for 62.5k and the new job is with a federal government agency. Is it work leaving the private sector for a fed job? Do you give two weeks notice or quit right away? What if they fire you after you give 2 weeks notice? What is the most safe way to go about doing this?

Usually a federal government agency give you a start date to report to work, so, it won’t be held against you if you start in less than 2 weeks, management in private sectors should know that when you get a federal job that you have to report when they say. Congratulations!
